Lennox Healthy Climate for a Live Oak house: what each piece costs to run and what it actually fixes
Air-quality equipment is sold with adjectives. Here it is sold with the three questions Live Oak homeowners actually ask and a running-cost answer to each.

Costed per season, not per brochure
Lennox’s Healthy Climate line covers media filter cabinets, a whole-home air purifier, UV germicidal lamps, whole-house dehumidifiers, humidifiers and ventilators. Each piece has a purchase price, which you will get in writing, and a running cost, which is what this page is about. Running cost means three things: electricity, consumables such as filters and bulbs, and the maintenance visit that keeps it working. A media cabinet runs on nothing and consumes two filters a year. A UV lamp draws a trickle of power and needs a bulb every year or two. A dehumidifier is the only piece with a real electric load, and it usually pays part of that back by letting the air conditioner run warmer. We will put rough seasonal figures on each for your house rather than fake precision here.
With that frame, the three questions.
Does it add noise to a quiet acre?
People move to Eagle’s Pointe, Savannah Plantation and the Dowling Oaks lots partly for the quiet. None of the Healthy Climate pieces adds meaningful sound. The filter cabinet is silent. The purifier and UV lamp are silent. The dehumidifier has a small fan and compressor and sounds like a refrigerator running in the garage or attic, which is where it lives. The ventilator has two quiet fans. The air handler itself is the noise source in any system, and a variable-speed Lennox unit at low speed is quieter than the old single-speed it replaces. Net effect on the porch at dusk: none.

Does it help a sticky bedroom in August?
This is where the line earns its name in Live Oak. The master bedroom far down a long duct run, or a converted room over a garage, is sticky in August because the cooling cycle ends before the air has given up its moisture. The Healthy Climate dehumidifier ties into the return and removes water on its own setpoint regardless of what the thermostat is doing. In a house with a dew point outside in the 70s for four months, that single piece changes how the bedroom feels more than any thermostat setting. The filter and purifier do nothing for humidity; we say that plainly so nobody buys the wrong box for a damp room.
Ask about Healthy Climate dehumidification
Does it do anything about dust from the hayfield and the dirt road?
Yes, in order of effect. The media cabinet with a MERV 13 filter catches field dust, pine pollen and most of what blows off an unpaved county road. The purifier works on the finer particles and on odors, which matters near poultry operations and during controlled-burn season in Twin Rivers State Forest. The UV lamp does nothing for dust; it keeps the wet coil from growing mold, which is a different problem that shows up as a musty smell after storms. Duct sealing, which is not a Healthy Climate product, often matters more than any of them in a 1970s house whose attic ducts are pulling in insulation fibers.
Which pieces to buy and which to skip
For most Live Oak houses: the media cabinet first, the dehumidifier second if the house feels damp, UV third if the coil has a history. The purifier is for households with allergy, asthma or odor concerns. The ventilator is for tight new construction only. The humidifier is almost never, in a climate this wet and on well water this hard.
Every piece is installed by Cook’s and maintained on the same visits as the rest of the system, which is the part the brochure leaves out.
Running costs, asked about directly
Is the Healthy Climate purifier the same thing as the ionizers that made ozone?
No. The current Lennox purifier uses a different approach aimed at particles, germs and odors without generating ozone. We will go through the specification with you rather than wave at it.
Which single piece would you buy first for a house on a dirt road near McAlpin?
The media filter cabinet. Road dust is particles, and a deep MERV 13 filter catches most of it for the cost of a filter twice a year. Everything else is a refinement.
What's the replacement interval on the UV bulb?
The bulb loses output over time and is typically replaced every year or two at a maintenance visit. It is a small recurring cost and it is why we mention maintenance before we mention the lamp.
Do these products work with a non-Lennox air handler?
Most of the line fits other brands with the right transition. The exceptions are a few controls tied to Lennox communicating systems. We check the model you have before quoting.
